The generated fog can form clearly visible clouds and fill the space, enhancing beams from spotlights, moving heads, lasers and other effect fixtures. Unlike the fine, evenly dispersed haze produced by hazers, the effect generated by a fog machine can be more intense and clearly visible.

Depending on the model, fog machines may vary in output, warm-up time, tank capacity and control options. Selected models offer adjustable effect output, DMX control, automatic operation or remote control.
